Plural Marriage, a more unbiased look

The Kirtland 1835 D&C section 101, contained church policies on marriage, which are not in the current, D&C 134 Notes or Article on Marriage, but are still published in the RLDS D&C. (The D&C or Doctrine and Covenants refers to the main book of scripture and law for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.)

A Chronology of Federal Legislation on Polygamy, directed at the polygamous families of Mormons from circa 1862- 1904.

"The 1852 Utah Territorial Legislature Enactment on Inheritance of Illegitimate "Polygamists"' Children: a Novelty Among Legitimacy Statutes", is a paper I write back in 1980.  It points out some interesting twists in the past LDS History of  Mormon / Anti-Mormon approach to preserving / destroying polygamous families.

White-washing Mormon Church History, my perspective after 20 years. Particularly the "Manuscript History of Brigham Young 1846 - 1847" and OD1 (Official Declaration 1) also known as the Wilford Woodruff Manifesto of 1890.

Was Plural Marriage a requirement for Exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom?

Mary Elizabeth Rollins (Lightner Smith Young), one of the (polyandry) wives featured in Todd Compton's book, In Sacred Loneliness : The Plural Wives of Joseph Smith, Signature books 1998.  This page includes the Autobiography, Life Story, Testimony at BYU in 1905, and the Dream of Mary Elizabeth Rollins, regarding Josephites, Godbeites and Brighamites.  While white washed it is still very interesting Mormon History to read.

Anson Bowen Call; Post 1890 Manifesto Polygamist, Typical Mormon or Religious Zealot?  Anson B. was engaged to marry his first (polygamous) plural wife, before the first 1890 Wilford Woodruff Manifesto, as things worked out, he ended up marrying 3 plural wives after  the September 1890 press release. ANSON CALL (sr.); Excerpts from his Autobiography.

While as a Graduate student in History at BYU, (Brigham Young University), I wrote a short paper for a Utah History class that included a chapter entitled, Review of Misleading Histories.  That is to say, LDS one volume Histories of the Church, with what I thought at the time was purposely white washing of Mormon History surrounding the 1st Manifesto of 1890, by Wilford Woodruff.  Not to mention the 2nd Manifesto of 1904.

Former BYU professor D. Michael Quinn gave a two hour speech at Bluffdale, Utah on, 11 August 1991 about, Plural Marriages after the 1890 Manifesto, I have received permission from Mike to put his remarks on my Mormon Church History web site.

LDS History Sunday School manual paints polygamist Brigham Young as a monogamist.  An article from the Idaho State Journal, in Pocatello is here reproduced.  Plus the original unaltered quotes and commentary from the original sources of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Celestial Marriage A Few Definitions

I have recently had a very forceful Epiphany, a major paradigm shift, yea even a change of heart! See Disclaimer.
